How is Career Crafting Different?

Posted by on in Career Crafting

Are you checking out our site because you have an intuitive hit that Career Crafting is different from mainstream approaches but not sure exactly HOW? Here are the most important differences:

Career Crafting uses a holistic, integrative model. It is BEING focused rather than JOB focused. Career Crafting empowers you to get connected to your creativity, passion, life purpose, and greatest gifts, then apply 21st century marketing strategies to achieve your goals and life vision.

Holistic means that all aspects of you are honored and valued. We do not seek to find an occupational category, box for you but discover together your unique expression in the world that is both financially rewarding and personally satisfying.

We separate your short term financial needs (which we call Taxi Job) from your long term goals and dreams (which we call your Career Playground). This allows us to deal with the priorities and eliminate the confusion and conflict arising when this distinction is not made.

We do not see your career as simply a place to "earn a living" but rather an opportunity for deep personal fulfillment, creativity and contributing your greatest gifts to the world.

Career Crafting is both a program and a system that can be applied to a 17 year old high school student wanting to design their future AND a person in their 60's wanting to experience fulfillment in their retirement years.

If you'd like to get a deeper sense of what we're about, I recommend listening to my radio interview "The Awesome Power of Living Your Life Purpose" accessible at http://bit.ly/5WIikQ.

We also have a Career Crafting Overview document at http://bit.ly/XYLNPe. Clicking on the text inside any circle on page 1 will take you to the page on that topic.

All questions and comments are welcome and appreciated.

It is also a bold and compelling endorsement of our Career Crafting program. I encourage you to view it and post your comments and questions.

What is Your Greatest Asset?

Posted by on in Career Crafting

In the 20th century, your greatest asset was cash or the equivalent, i.e. anything that could easily be converted to cash. These were called liquid assets.

In the 21st century this has totally changed. Today, your greatest asset is your network and your relationships. Why? Because it is the quantity and quality of your network that determines your ability to generate profits no matter what industry you're involved in.

As an example, consider a company that creates a mobile game app and gives it away for free. Massive numbers of people download the app. As people play the game, they need a particular "credit" to win. They can earn these credits slowly or get them much faster by paying for them. Guess what happens.

The logical perception is that since it is "just a game" people would not pay for these credits. If this is what you guessed would happen, you'd be wrong!!

The actual outcome is that this company wound up generating $1,000,000 per day in sales all derived from people paying for credits in the game! I'm not joking. On top of that, Apple is also making $300,000 per day which is their cut of the profit. Are you catching on here to a profound trend?

Here's the core principle. Once you've established communication with a large network, you can introduce many different products and services and harvest massive profits.

Additionally, since being a part of the network is valuable (like Facebook), the network expands virally and explosively on its own thus creating even more customers for the additional products to be introduced.

Now given the above, ask yourself, what will have the greatest impact on my financial future?
Will it be continuing to market my skills, experience and education as I was taught to do all my life or will it be my ability to expand my network and thereby open myself to explosive profits passively?

There's a lot more to this story but for now I'm going to pause and allow you to digest what I've shared. Let it sink in.

Post your questions and we'll soon take this to the next step.
